The story behind
The strawberry mojito is the ideal companion for a sunny afternoon. I love the intense red color the drink takes on and how the muddled fruit pieces float among the ice, creating a look as enticing as this perfectly served glass. The whole strawberry on the rim is that final touch that turns it into a professional cocktail with a homemade soul.
Instructions
-
1In a tall glass, place the chopped strawberries, mint leaves, and sugar.
-
2Gently muddle with a pestle to extract the juice from the strawberries and the essential oils from the mint without completely shredding the leaves.
-
3Add the lime juice and white rum, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
-
4Fill the glass with plenty of ice, either crushed or cubed, as shown in the image.
-
5Top off with soda water and mix lightly with a long spoon to integrate the flavors from the bottom up.
-
6Garnish the rim of the glass with a whole fresh strawberry for a professional presentation.
-
7Serve immediately with straws to enjoy all the layers of flavor.
