In this version, the circular presentation highlights the searing technique, achieving a professional and clean aesthetic that allows every detail of the golden dough to be appreciated. Instructions
-
1Mix the ground pork, shredded cabbage, ginger, and a portion of the green onions in a bowl until an even filling is formed.
-
2Place a small portion of filling in the center of each wrapper, moisten the edges, and close them by pressing to form the characteristic pleats.
-
3Heat a non-stick skillet with a little oil and arrange the dumplings. Cook over medium heat until the base is well-browned and crispy.
-
4Pour a quarter cup of water into the skillet and cover immediately to steam them for 5 minutes.
-
5Remove the lid and wait for the water to evaporate completely so the base hardens again.
-
6Serve on a smooth black plate, arranging the twelve dumplings in a perfect circle with the golden side facing up and the center clear.
-
7Sprinkle plenty of fresh chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the dumplings to highlight the color contrast.
-
8Serve immediately to enjoy the characteristic crispy texture of the gyoza.
