The story behind
The Blue Hawaiian was created in 1957 in Waikiki, Hawaii, to showcase the color of Blue Curaçao liqueur. As seen in the image, the cocktail evokes Pacific waters with its bright, translucent blue hue. It is served in a Hurricane glass with plenty of crushed ice and garnished exuberantly with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry, capturing the essence of a tropical vacation.
Instructions

1Combine rum, Blue Curaçao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut in a shaker with ice.

2Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled and emulsified.

3Fill a Hurricane glass with crushed ice as shown in the image.

4Strain the mixture over the ice.

5Garnish with the pineapple and cherry to achieve the signature tropical look.
