The story behind
I love it when the whole house starts to smell like freshly baked orange; I swear it's one of my favorite scents. I make this cake whenever I want something that feels like a hug—very home-style and hassle-free. The secret is using really sweet oranges and not being shy with the powdered sugar at the end so it looks just as beautiful on the clay plate. It's the perfect companion for a quiet afternoon snack or to surprise someone with a sweet treat in the morning.
Instructions
-
1Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease your bundt pan very well.
-
2Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture turns a lighter color and looks creamy.
-
3Add the melted butter, orange juice, and zest, mixing gently.
-
4Gradually incorporate the flour along with the baking powder so you don't lose those air bubbles.
-
5Pour everything into the mold and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes; do the toothpick test to be sure.
-
6Let it cool before removing from the mold and finish by dusting powdered sugar on top to make it look gorgeous.
