The story behind
This recipe is one of my go-to's when I really want to treat someone special. I remember the first time I made them; I was so worried the pasta would break, but seeing them come out of the oven all bubbly and golden made it all worth it. They are perfect for a lazy Sunday lunch when you have time to just enjoy the process. I love serving them with a fresh side salad and, if possible, a glass of red wine to make it a real feast. It's the kind of meal that makes everyone want seconds.
Instructions
-
1Start with the filling: sauté the onion and then add the meat until it's fully cooked and well-seasoned.
-
2Prepare the pasta according to the package instructions until it's al dente.
-
3Carefully stuff each tube with the meat mixture and arrange them in a glass baking dish.
-
4Cover the cannelloni with the tomato sauce and then layer the white sauce on top to keep them juicy.
-
5Generously sprinkle the parmesan cheese all over the top.
-
6Bake until the cheese is bubbling and has a beautiful golden color. Serve hot and enjoy the conversation!
