The story behind
The Gamja Hot Dog is a Seoul street food icon. This version combines the softness of fermented dough with the rustic crunch of diced potatoes. Presented in brown paper packaging with side dips, it captures that professional urban aesthetic that takes a home craving to the next level.
Instructions
-
1Prepare the dough by mixing flour, yeast, milk, and egg. Let it ferment in a warm place until doubled in size.
-
2Skewer the sausages and cheese onto wooden sticks, making sure they are dry.
-
3Cut the potatoes into small, uniform cubes, then parboil them for 2 minutes to soften slightly. Dry thoroughly.
-
4Dip the skewer into the fermented dough, rotating to coat it completely.
-
5Press the potato cubes onto the dough so they stick firmly, covering the entire surface.
-
6Roll the corn dog in panko to fill the spaces between the potatoes.
-
7Deep fry in oil at 170°C until the potato cubes are golden brown and crispy.
-
8Serve and accompany with dips.
